Winter is all about comfort food and Hog Roast Irishtown provide the best!

Winter food trends tend to be made up of comfort food dishes that are warming and cosy. While you can enjoy any of Hog Roast Irishtown’s dishes at any time of year, there are certain meals that just taste even better on a cold day! We recently provided a menu of comfort food for a private event in Ireland, and this is how it went…

As we enter October, the popularity of comfort food is on the rise again- and this is a Hog Roast Irishtown speciality. A group of friends based in Ireland contacted our catering manager Nathan, to enquire about a menu for an event that they were planning to host. The event was a birthday party for a member of the group, consisting of a cosy movie night with a delicious menu. After discussing the catering options that we can provide, the group decided that our Classic Slow-Roasted Hog was the ideal option since it is a simplistic yet versatile dish.

Hog Roast Irishtown On the day of the party, our Hog Roast Irishtown catering team arrived in advance of the 18:00 mealtime. We started by roasting the hog, ensuring that it cooked evenly and thoroughly, while packed full of natural juices and flavours. For meat-free guests, we also provided BBQ pulled jackfruit, which is a delicious alternative! Both main dishes were served with fresh bread rolls, including a gluten-free option, as well as sage and onion stuffing and homemade applesauce. For the side dishes, we prepared seasonal vegetables and homemade chips, creating a tasty and balanced meal.

This menu was perfect for the event and was enjoyed by all. While this menu is simplistic, it is a great comfort meal and tastes even better when enjoyed on a cold night with friends!
