Since the number of guests couples are able to have at their wedding ceremonies is still considerably restricted due to COVID, Hog Roast Wicklow has been inundated with requests from newlyweds who want to keep the celebrations going for an extra day. Most recently, we received a booking from Marian who had planned an at-home garden party for a small handful of her and her husband’s friends and family members who had been unable to attend the ceremony.
Anticipating only a modest turnout of people, Marian was looking for a more informal meal, and almost immediately, our private party menu 3 caught her eye. We like to think of this menu as offering alfresco dining at its finest, and like all of our other menus, it can be easily adapted to suit the individual needs of each client.
For this occasion, Marian had asked that the slow roasted pig be dropped from the menu. So instead, our catering manager Nathan helped the client come up with a bespoke feast which included our chefs own gourmet sausages, BBQ 100% beef handmade burgers, Thai chicken kebabs and fall off the bone sticky pork ribs with gluten-free rolls and wraps and a meat-free alternative of grilled veggie skewers with optional chunks of Greek halloumi cheese.
Having just gotten hitched the day before, the happy couple were still buzzing with excitement when Hog Roast Wicklow arrived to set up for the evening meal. As always, the team started with the meats first, and as they sizzled away on our HogMaster, Nathan and the crew focused on the presentation of the side dishes. Before too long, the serving station was completed by the addition of our eco-friendly wooden bowls which were brimming with crunchy coleslaw and a trio of fresh salads, topped off with ripe cherry tomatoes.
By 6 pm, all of the guests had arrived to kickstart the celebrations – and they certainly brought their appetites with them! To keep the meats warm throughout the event, Hog Roast Wicklow moved them into our chafing dishes before announcing the completion of the meal. Just like that, the guests rushed over to fill their plates before settling down in the marquee to join in on the wedding chatter.
