Meet Nathan, Hog Roast Wicklow’s catering manager!

Nathan has been with Hog Roast Wicklow for a few years now having had previous experience working in restaurants and being responsible for the catering on his outdoor adventure trips. He would be responsible for feeding hundreds of people in one go or a small group of children during the excursions. There’s never a dull moment in Nathan’s life, it’s full of adventure and fun!

Let’s explore his time with Hog Roast Wicklow…

Have you got a favourite venue that you have catered at?

Nathan has done many events, but his favourite venue has been the Dufferin Coaching Inn and Hall. The building has so much character having been built in 1803 and with how it is decorated inside with fairy lights, carriage lamps and stained-glass panels create a completely enchanting and enticing venue. Nathan loved catering here and would love to return in the future for further weddings.

Have you had any memorable events?

Nathan claims that the most memorable event was a wedding he catered for up North, it was outside in a field in a massive marquee. The marquee was decorated beautifully with photos of the happy couple, flowers, fairy lights and rustic centre pieces. The sun was shining creating a warm reception. Being only a small wedding party made it nice and intimate. The couple had chosen a delicious menu and Nathan was happy to part of their special day!

Which Hog Roast Wicklow menu is your favourite?

hog roast WicklowNathan’s go to menu, especially if he was a customer, would be the Southern Slow Roast. An American-inspired menu full of amazing flavours and choices! Nathan would certainly opt for the tender Texan-BBQ beef, juicy roast chicken and the succulent minted lamb. All incredibly tasty as the other and marinated for four hours before being slowly roasted on low heat, the meat just falls apart and is completely delicious! To accompany the meats, he would go to an American-favourite comfort food, Mac and cheese! As well as buttered corn cobettes, sweet potato wedges and crunchy-styled coleslaw – is your mouth watering or is it just mine?!

If he had to pick a wedding menu, then he would recommend Hog Roast Wicklow’s canapés, main and your wedding cake for dessert. The canapés are tasty and full of flavour, the main you can tailor to whatever you would like and having your wedding cake for dessert means that everyone gets to try some!

Hopefully, you’ll be able to meet Nathan this summer as restrictions slowly and surely get lifted!
