Here at Hog Roast Wexford, we pride ourselves on our versatile approach to catering and our ability to cater in any setting for any number of people. This enables us to cater just as effectively for smaller private parties as we do for large scale public events and we got the opportunity to demonstrate this last week when we were asked to do the catering for a homecoming party in the hosts’ back garden!
After spending several months studying in the States, Paul and Elaine’s son Michael was coming home and they wanted to make a fuss of him by welcoming him back with a family party so he could have a good catch up with everyone after being away for the best part of a year! They wanted to treat him to some hearty home-grown grub that was also a cut above the usual buffet fare. Since their son was a big fan of pork, they thought a hog roast would be the perfect way to say welcome home and after having a chat with a member of the Hog Roast Wexford team, they felt assured that it would be a suitable option for their garden party.
When we arrived, the excited parents were very impressed with our streamlined set up and marvelled at how we could rustle up a bountiful buffet from scratch in their back garden with a minimal amount of equipment and staff!
When Michael arrived back from the airport he knew the rest of the family would be there to greet him, but he didn’t expect such a fine spread to be waiting for him as well! Michael wasted no time in getting stuck into our fabulous slow roasted pork with all the trimmings and told us it was the best pork he had ever tasted! Our sociable buffet style service allowed everyone to have a good chat with the guest of honour whilst tucking into our tasty food at the same time.
It was certainly the perfect welcome home from America for student Michael and he was very touched that his parents had gone the extra mile for him by hiring Hog Roast Wexford!
