Hog Roast Tynagh Handled Catering For A Holy Communion After-Party

With menus available to suit the needs of every age group, event formality and, of course, budget, it’s no wonder why Hog Roast Tynagh is Ireland’s catering provider of choice. Naturally, this means we always have lots of events to keep us busy (especially now that the summer is in full swing), which we are extremely grateful for!

The scorching hot weather that the country has been blessed with over the last few weeks has put everyone in the mood to party, and they’ve come to us looking for some phenomenal food to make their events even better. Among our latest surge of bookings was a request from Cal and Jessica, who wanted our help with celebrating their daughter Poppy’s first holy communion.

The whole family was excited to see Poppy go through her first religious rite last weekend, which was followed by a laid-back after-party at Cal and Jessica’s home. Hog Roast Tynagh’s catering manager, Nathan, was happy to assist the couple with this special celebration, and he promised to deliver an outstanding meal that the couple would be proud to present to their family and friends.

Hog Roast TynaghPreparing the Classic Hog Roast buffet for the occasion took our team all morning, but with the weather on their side, they were able to shave around an hour off the standard cooking time. This gave them extra time to focus on the presentation of the serving table, which they covered with colourful side salads bordered with slices of fresh watermelon, a basket of gluten-free and wholemeal rolls, and a row of condiments and dips presented in porcelain serving dishes. The team also helped to decorate the garden with banners, balloons and streamers before the group arrived to kickstart the fun.

Once everyone had arrived at around 1 pm, Nathan began carving the well-cooked hog. After separating the crispy crackling from the soft and juicy pork encased within, he and the rest of Hog Roast Tynagh’s catering team quickly served the meat on rolls with sage and onion stuffing and applesauce to the eager-eyed guests, who were over the moon with the flavours.
