You’ve heard of classic car shows, right? But what about air days? Instead of shiny vintage motors, you’ve got majestic aircrafts, each one with a story to tell, showcasing how far we’ve soared in aviation history.
Air days are like car shows on steroids, and they’re a whole lot rarer for obvious reasons. So, when one pops up, it’s a big deal, and you better believe it’s something to get excited about!
On that note, when Hog Roast Keel got word that one of these epic events was landing in our community, we were over the moon—and even more thrilled when the organisers asked us to cater! With excitement bubbling over, our team zoomed to the airport hangar on Saturday morning, ready to dazzle everyone with our BBQ menu. Our spread of gourmet meats, sides, and condiments is always a crowd-pleaser, and this day was no exception.
As the event organisers decked out the space with colourful bunting and directed vendors and exhibitors to their spots, Hog Roast Keel got to work, cooking up a storm.
Imagine the sizzle of handmade British beef burgers, sausages, chicken kebabs, and meaty spareribs hitting the grill, each cooked to chargrilled perfection – talk about delicious! Meanwhile, for the veggie lovers, we had veggie burgers and grilled vegetable and halloumi kebabs, ensuring everyone had something delicious to munch on.
As the event’s starting time approached, we whipped up classic fries, mouth-watering pasta salad, and refreshing green leaf salad, while the excitement around us reached a fever pitch.
With over 80 static aircraft on display and some classic motors thrown in for good measure, the site was a feast for the eyes. The air was filled with tantalising aromas from various food stands, while inflatables and family game zones provided endless fun for the little ones. A massive projector screen showcased pre-recorded aircraft displays, adding to the electric atmosphere.
Soon, the place was buzzing with ticket holders, all soaking up the incredible entertainment on offer. Families bounced between inflatable fun zones, and foodies delighted in the smorgasbord of delicious foods. It was a fantastic day all around, and Hog Roast Keel felt incredibly lucky to be part of it.
