Making your first holy communion is a huge landmark in your religious oath, and so, like Elvis and co, our esteemed guests last week, it is only right that you mark the moment with a proper celebration with the very best foods around. Our meaty hog roast here at Hog Roast Ratoath might not quite be the body of Christ, but it can’t be too far off the very next best thing.
On behalf of Esther Hog Roast Ratoath were called out to County Meath to bring our special brand of roast catered dining for the boys and girls to celebrate their first holy communion. For such an occasion our catering manager Nathan considered our Alfresco menu as the best option since it gives a little of everything for everyone to enjoy, and allowed the kids to eat in a more casual style of dining to suit them. Our Alfresco menu begins with an antipasti platter of the finest selection of Italian meats and cheeses, served alongside oils and artisan breads. Here at Hog Roast Ratoath we find that the classic Italian Prosciutto Parma ham and Salami makes for an excellent combination with some buffalo mozzarella, Parmagiano, or Gorganzola and enjoyed best on a brilliant herb focaccia or our fresh ciabatta. Drizzle the whole thing in extra virgin olive oil or balsamic vinegar and you have a starter as extravagant as the Mediterranean!
As with most of our menus the hog roast of our name makes the main dish, and the Alfresco is no different however for this event with Elvis we also paired the pig with some hot dogs served on finger rolls with sauces for the kids to enjoy, or our grilled halloumi and veg skewers for the vegetarians. The party of 40 also had their helpings of our new potatoes and gluten free rolls to gorge on with their mains. A delicious feast fit for such an occasion!
Of course the kids were raring to go for their desserts after their hot dogs, and so our choice of tarte au citron or and/or cheesecake more than delivered to top off the event. As ever the Hog Roast Ratoath team were quick and clean to pack up and be off to allow our guests to enjoy the rest of the afternoon at their own leisure.
Another event well served!
