Hog Roast Kilkenny Enjoyed Catering For A Traditional Celtic Wedding

Hog Roast Kilkenny is no stranger to a good old-fashioned wedding, and we love nothing more than helping brides and grooms realise their wedding dreams. So, when sweethearts Aoife and Liam requested our team’s assistance with their big day, we were over the moon.

Months of hard work and planning culminated in a stunning Celtic wedding at a quintessentially Irish castle last weekend, where 300 guests came together to celebrate Aoife and Liam’s union. After an emotional hand-fasting ceremony, it was our pleasure to serve our Formal Wedding Catering Menu to the group.

The drinks and canapes flowed as the celebrations started, giving the happy couple time to slip away for some private photos. Upon their return, Hog Roast Kilkenny served the homemade soup starter with crusty bread rolls and butter.

Hog Roast KilkennyOnce the guests had cleared their plates, the main buffet was unveiled. Slow-roasted pulled pork, crackling, and sage and onion stuffing rolls were served alongside tender free-range chicken with aromatic seasoning and chipolata sausages. The feast also included vegan-friendly vegetable skewers and a choice of side dishes, comprising fresh salads, coleslaw and buttered new potatoes.

Next up was dessert. Vacherins of strawberries with passion fruit cream and sticky toffee pudding gave the guests the rush of sugar they needed to turn the celebrations up a notch. The hours that followed saw the guests enjoying the live music entertainment and utilising the on-site photo booth the couple had hired.

Following the main course, Hog Roast Kilkenny’s catering team served an equally impressive evening buffet. After allowing the guests several hours to dance to Ceilidh music and catch up with each other, our crew rolled out a tasty buffet of hot bacon and sausage barms; made from the finest dry-cured bacon and butcher sausages. The guests enjoyed every bite of the dishes and complimented the catering team for their exceptional service.

As the celebrations began to wind down, Hog Roast Kilkenny brought out the wedding cake, which we sliced and dressed with fresh cream and berries. This was served with tea, coffee and mints, which the guests were very appreciative of after a long and thrilling day.
